walkers on a country road.

Welcome to the Forfar and District group. We are ideally situated for access to the beautiful Angus countryside and coast, as well as forays into surrounding areas such as Perthshire and Fife.

We are a small friendly group who enjoy getting together for fresh air, exercise and socialising. Our walks are usually between 4 - 8 miles in length, on varying terrains. We walk every fortnight on Saturdays and have introduced  midweek strolls. When possible, we finish with a visit to a cafe.

Exciting News Weekend Away:  Our weekend away this year will be to Nethy Bridge, on the 19th September staying at the lovely Nethy Bridge Hotel.  There is an option of a two or three night stay.  Price: £75 DBB per night with room options of Single; Double or Twin available.  Nethy Bridge lies between Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey and lies within the Cairngorms National Park and part of the Speyside Way.  There is a network of 7 woodland trails which link with the Speyside Way.  There will be a programme of walks available.  If you are interested please get in touch.

Ramble - Saturday, 22nd March - Marykirk Tower

MEET MMCP at  9.15 a.m at Market Muir Car Park, Forfar or Marykirk village hall car park 10:00 a.m.  This is a pleasant circular walk of 6 miles walking through a quiet country road which continues for a short distance when we will go into the woods.  This is a lovely wood where hopefully we see some spring flowers and birds and lovely views. There is a hidden element to this walk in the wood, which is very interesting.  We then continue down towards the river seeing amazing scenery.  Again following quiet country roads and walking under the Marykirk Bridge before returning to the car park.  There is a restaurant a short distance from the car park if required.  All are welcome to register for this walk please contact the walk leader, via walks manager.
