We are the Winchester Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We will go through Otterbourne Wood and into Cranbury Park with its interesting buildings and well-marked path. Mid morning break at some point here (no seats). Lunch break in Hursley (the church or graveyard). Pleasant path to Silkstead, past the mansions of Shepherds Lane and along the Itchen Way back to Otterbourne.
Could be muddy, poles could be useful. Remember to bring all food and drink for the day, it is a picnic walk.
Please let the leader know you are coming as we may set off early if all known walkers have arrived.
Otterbourne Recreation Ground, Oakwood Avenue. Coming from Winchester turn left into Oakwood Avenue just after a mini roundabout where the right hand turn goes to Hursley. Coming from the south, turn right into Oakwood Avenue just after Nisa Local on the left, and before the mini roundabout. At the t-junction follow the right hand turn (signed to the rec. ground) and very soon turn left along a fairly inconspicuous track which leads to the car park on the right.
