If conditions are wet underfoot we may well walk along the not very busy road to near Charlwood which we approach from the east to arrive at The Half Moon for lunch (picnic in nearby churchyard). The flat afternoon walk goes underneath the take off/landing path of the runway at Gatwick so heads down! Arriving at Ifield we may tarry at The Pelham Buckle in the shopping parade where we catch the 200 bus to Gatwick Airport. There are several options for the journey home: buy a single to East Croydon Station, or a single to Dorking Deepdene via Redhill/Reigate, or spend approximately 80 minutes on the 420 hourly bus back to Sutton (via East Surrey Hospital) but there are many alternative buses also, allowing a further stop at the hospital.
