We are the Gloucestershire Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join us for a festive 5.5 mile walk, we'll be offering mulled wine, hot apple and cinnamon punch, warm mince pies and stollen bites before the walk starts.
Meet at 9.45am for 10am start in the Green Dragon car park, Cockleford. Please park considerately at the top end of the car park and car share if you can.
The route follows footpaths and very quiet country lanes through fields and woodland with great views along the way.
Mainly good tracks but expect some short muddy stretches and a few gentle inclines. Walking boots highly recommended, bring poles if you want them.
We'll stop for a short break in Elkstone village (bring coffee /snack) and then finish the walk before lunch. Post walk refreshments available at the Green Dragon Pub /Farm Shop. The farm shop is next to the pub and is stocked with all sorts of Christmas treats if you need last minute provisions or gifts!
Existing and new members and all ages welcome.
Dogs are not permitted, apart from registered assistance dogs.
