Overview

Starting from Woodlands Football Pitches carpark in  Bedford, we will walk across the field past twin woods. This is the site of the airfield where the famous 40s band leader Glen Miller took his last flight before crashing into the English Channel. Then further round the walk we will have views overlooking the Great Ouse river valley. From here will will head to the Browns Wood Nature reserve before looping round the back of Clapham. We will come into the eastern end of the village and stop for a drink at The Horse & Groom pub. After this we will head back to the start via Clapham Green. The lunch stop will be at a suitable spot before we get to Clapham.
