We are the Dearne Valley Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Suitably refreshed with coffee and cake we will walk across Whirlow Playing Fields and down through Ecclesall Woods (Sheffield's largest ancient woodland). We will then have a quick look at Beauchief Gardens before visiting the Grade 1 Listed Abbeydale Industrial Museum. With a history going back to the 13th century, the museum has preserved workshops where scythes and other steel tools were manufactured up until the 1930s.
Lunch will be taken here at either the on-site coffee shop or eat your own packed lunch at one of the benches. After lunch we will take a different route back through Ecclesall Woods to our start point.

Meet at The Shelter Cafe, Whirlow Brook Park, S11 9QD. Park in one of two free car parks - a small one 150m up the drive from the cafe or a larger one at the top of the drive behind Whirlow Brook Hall.
