Overview

Who fancies a good circular walk from Abbots Bromley then? That's our venue for this Sunday and you're welcome to join us of course. If you've walked with us before that's great - just turn up. If not, simply let us know beforehand. Thanks!

Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00.

Our route over rolling countryside takes in field footpaths, woodland tracks, and some road/pavement walking to complete the circuit. A few gentle hills, but nothing steep. Approximately 20 stiles. ⚠️Perhaps give the shorts a miss this time unless you like nettles.

Pub afterwards as usual. Dunno which one just yet!

Directions: primarily for our own members but good for anyone arriving via the B5014 from either Rugeley or Lichfield.

The start is set well back from the B5014 main road in Abbots Bromley as illustrated in the third photo above.

From Rugeley take the B5013 north over Blithfield Reservoir, then right at the T-junction onto the B5014 which takes you into Abbots Bromley a few hundred yards later. Continue through the village, pass the Bagot Arms on your left and then the Indian restaurant on the same side (both buildings are painted white).

Immediately after passing the car park of the latter turn left into the narrow uphill drive signed Village Hall and continue for 175 yards, passing the parking bays on your left, and into the large parking area which is the basketball court that doubles up as an overflow car park. Satellite screenshot in the photos above.

Our thanks to Abbots Bromley Village Hall for kindly allowing us the use of their car park to avoid clogging up the public car park behind The Crown Inn. We wish to make a donation and suggest a nominal fee of £1.50 per person please. No loose change please if you can help it. Thank you.
