From the Village Hall at Aymestrey we walk over fields and through woodland to walk over Bircher Common and then through access land to Croft Ambrey Iron Age Hillfort. On the way back to Aymestrey we walk along the top of Yatton Hill.
There will be a collection for car parking.
Key features of this walk are: the extensive views from Bircher Common, views of the fishponds in Fishponds Valley, the visit to the Croft Ambrey Hillfort and the views from Yatton Hill. Paths are generally good; there are very few gates and stiles and no significant hazards. There is one steep section, but that has stairs. Some of the route follows the Mortimer Trail.
Access the car park directly from the A4110 at the south end of the village.
