We are the Alton Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

Alton has a rich heritage in brewing. Join me on a shortish walk between 6 different hostelries in Alton. We will be visiting the Hotels, Pubs in alphabetical order to create a more interesting and slightly longer walk. We will meet in the The Market Square and walk to The Alton House Hotel followed by The Bakers Arms, The Crown, The Eight bells, The French Horn and finishing off at The Ivy House. There will be liquid refreshments and snacks available at each stop. I anticipate spending 30 - 40 mins at each hostelry, before moving on to the next. We will be walking through the flood meadows during the walk but all the paths are tarmaced so there will be no mud but shoes with some grip are advisable.
You can expect a range of different establishments in age and decor which will each have their own beers, some well known local brews. There will also be soft drinks and hopefully hot hot drinks available in most of the Hotels, Pubs that we visit.
We will meet in The Market Square, outside The Ten Tun Tap House for 11am. Please arrive at least 15 minutes beforehand 10.45am. The Ten Tun Tap House is is an establishment that we will visit in the sequel! (Alton Pub Walk 2)
