We are the Derby and South Derbyshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
5 miles shorter walk: starting Hazelwood Village Hall, car parking, voluntary donations. Towards Duffield, through the golf course & back over the Chevin. Return to Church Hall for coffee/tea with the group completing 10m walk.
10 miles longer walk: starting Coppice Car Park, Belper, free parking. Following the Derwent Valley Hetitage Way towards Milford, up Sunny Hill to the Chevin, along the Chevin towards Hazelwood Hall. After lunch/tea/coffee with the 5m participants, continue down towards Blackbrook, climb to Longwalls Lane & descending into Belper Lane End. The route back to Belper follows the bridleway through Wyver Farm, along Wyver Lane and back through Long Row up to the cp.
Risk assessment: Possibly large groups. Possibly roads to cross, stiles and other path furniture. Possibly muddy or other slippery sections, inclement weather & farm livestock. You therefore need to stay alert and take individual responsibility.
