This is a walk along paths, tracks and lanes around Hampstead Marshall. Leaving the carpark, we head North East making for Hampstead Park via Crookham End and Enborne. Passing though the park, we join the Kennet & Avon Canal and follow this West, leaving it at Shepherd’s Bridge. From here, we head South, passing Forbury House and Gore End before returning to the carpark as we skirt Ball Hill.
There are 5 stiles route, all in reasonable/good condition. The going is generally good although there are some soft areas in woodlands and low-lying fields – and one kissing gate, in very bad condition, which guards a particularly muddy area where walking poles may well be of assistance. We are likely to come across livestock in some of the fields.
Please bring sufficient food and drink for the day.
The walk is limited to 20 walkers, please book online using the booking form by 6pm Wednesday, 26 March.
