Overview

This is an undulating route through the pretty countryside of Essex with wooded hill tops. From the pub we make our way down Kate's Lane up to Ashdon Post windmill built in 1754 ( last used in 1912). Down through Walton Park on to the Bartlow Hills.  (Roman Tumuli burial site). On leaving Bartlow we make our way to Newnham Hall Farm, Ashdon up to Rectory Lane passing Marpa House.  This is a Buddhist Retreat to meditate, or we can carry on back to the pub !!!!!
