This is the classic circuit of the Forest, using critical links to join up the various sections. From the car park we will head towards the Friends Clump and then make our way to Gills Lap across the delightful central area of the forest. There is then a descent to Newbridge before a climb up the other side of Kidd’s Hill towards the Broadstone area of the Forest and the Forest Centre (lunch). The route then goes through the grounds of the Ashdown Park Hotel before a brief exploration north of Chelwood Gate before returning to the car park.
This is a fairly hilly route and there will almost certainly be some wet and muddy stretches, interspersed with some good walking.
Please text the leader to book onto this walk and bring a picnic lunch. It will probably be possible to buy hot drinks, and maybe even cake, at the Forest Centre.
Millbrook East car park off the A22 north of Nutley. £5 for the day, except for those with an annual pass. It is advisable to at least install one of the relevant apps in advance.
