Two climbs for the price of one on this strenuous walk starting from Church Stretton. After ascending the Long Mynd, we return via Ashes Hollow to the pretty village of Little Stretton with its picturesque timber church with thatched roof. We cross the A49 to undertake the second climb of the day up Ragleth Hill with views, on a good day, of the Shropshire Hills. We return to the car park at Church Stretton with its many tea rooms and pubs.
For those seeking a moderate walk there will be an option to omit the second climb of Ragleth and return to Church Stretton along the quiet Ludlow Road from Little Stretton
There will be a short drinks stop and a slightly longer lunch stop - so remember to bring a drink and a packed lunch.
This is a joint walk with Sandwell Ramblers and Wulfrun Walkers.
We look forward to welcoming you : however we do ask that walkers ensure they are fit enough for the walk they wish to undertake. We also recommend appropriate footwear such a walking boots and outdoor clothing suitable for our inclement weather. You can contact the group or walk leader if in doubt. Non-members of the Ramblers Association are welcome to join us on a couple of walks before deciding whether to join the group. Sorry no dogs allowed.
