Overview

The walk starts at the car park next to the river Wansbeck at Sheepwash, heading thereafter into the restored area formerly occupied by the massive Ashington Colliery site, meandering through the woodland area before arriving at Woodhorn Archive Museum.  Lunch will be taken there.  Swiftly via well trodden paths to Newbiggin Maritime Centre where the walk officially ends. To return to the cars, we will be alighting the X21 hourly bus service which takes us back to Stakeford Bank, thereafter we resume our walk for a further mile back to the car park.  Coffee and cake there are optional extras.

Please remember to bring change for the bus or bus passes.
