Overview

A circular, figure of eight, walk encompassing the key elements of Avebury village and the extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that seemingly form a vast ritualistic landscape. The walk will include The Sanctuary on Overton Hill, views (weather permitting) of the West Kennet Long Barrow and the mysterious Silbury Hill, whilst walking the length of the West Kennet (standing) Stone Avenue and the Neolithic Camp on Windmill Hill.

The underfoot conditions may be muddy in part, especially if it rains immediately prior to the walk day itself. Generally the conditions will be good. There is however little to no protection from inclement weather or sun, please dress appropriately.
