Overview

This walk is mostly mud free and consists of two loops, so that people wanting a shorter walk of about 3.5 miles can return to their cars at the half way point. From the Tidal Barrage car park (with toilets) we walk on the flood banks of the River Ouse, with great river views. We then follow tracks to the historic village of Hemingbrough. After walking through the village, our route takes field paths and eventually reaches the River Derwent; those on the shorter walk can return to the tidal barrage at this point.   The longer walk then follows the banks of the River Derwent to Loftsome Bridge, crossing over the bridge to reach the opposite bank of the Derwent. We then follow the river back to the starting point of the walk.
