Overview

From Barton Marina we will walk past the lakes and the village pond before reaching the Main Street of Barton-under-Needwood. From the village centre we head north onto the immaculately kept Dunstall Estate where we follow paths and tracks through grasslands and small plantations to reach the Old Dunstall Hall. Further paths through farmland lead us to Tatenhill where we will pause for lunch. The return journey takes us along part of the National Forest Way to Branston Water Park where, at Tatenhill Locks, we join the Trent and Mersey Canal which leads us back to the start. The terrain has some ups and downs and there are a number of stiles. Post-walk refreshments are available in The Waterfront pub or at a couple of cafes at Barton Marina.
