Beacon Hill

A scenic walk incorporating the Southdowns Way, the Wayfarer’s Way and finishing with the Monach’s Way.  We begin by passing the site of the Deserted Medieval Village of Lomer before following tracks and footpaths through to Kilmeston where we’ll stop for a coffee break before heading towards Hinton Ampner House across fields and over five stiles (three if the gates are still open).  We’ll stop for lunch in the woods near Black House Farm before wending our way back via Wheely Farm and Wheely Down Farm.  There is a hill (views are worth it) to return to the cars, but on the whole this is a walk of gentle gradients with more downhill than up!  There is a smidgen of mud.
