Join us for a relaxed 9-mile walk through the stunning landscapes, rich history, and charming villages of Oxfordshire.
We’ll begin and end our journey in the picturesque village of Beckley, just a few miles east of Headington in Oxford. Known for its scenic cottages and peaceful atmosphere, Beckley provides the perfect starting point for our adventure.
Our walk will begin from the meeting point near the Abingdon Arms, as we venture out of the village along a quiet road before joining a series of footpaths. We’ll pass alongside the Woodperry Estate and continue through farmland, heading toward the village of Forest Hill. There, we can stop at the cozy White Horse pub, where you can enjoy a drink—whether you prefer a pint or something non-alcoholic—before we take a break for lunch.
After our lunch stop, we’ll follow a lovely trail towards Sandhills, nearing the edge of Oxford City. A gentle climb will lead us back across the fields to Beckley, where we’ll take in the open countryside and rolling hills. Once back in Beckley, we can unwind with a refreshing drink at the Abingdon Arms to cap off the day’s journey.
We look forward to a leisurely walk, surrounded by nature and history, and the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing pub stop along the way.
This walk promises a lovely mix of scenery, fresh air, and a few village stops along the way.
