Overview

Hosted by Stag Walkers as part of Bedfordshire Festival of Autumn Walks. A leisurely and relatively flat route that goes from Arlesey station to Henlow, the edge of Clifton and Langford where you will enjoy some nice countryside and village walking whilst you might be lucky to spot some deer.

We will start at Arlesey railway station car park and loop down the Hicca Way trail towards the Old Moat Nature Reserve for a stroll along the River Hiz.

We will then head back towards Arlesey station and continue the second loop of the journey towards Henlow where we will have an optional snack break at Henlow Park Pavilion Recreation Ground.

Afterwards, we will head towards the edge of Clifton then walk back into Henlow where we will have our packed lunch stop at the Recreation Area and an optional pub stop at The Five Bells, which is dog friendly.

We will continue the rest of our walk passing St. Mary’s Church and head up the River Ivel eventually ending up in Langford. Then we will go down Common Road and pass Champneys Henlow, a Georgian House now used as a spa in the heart of Henlow Park.

Finally we will finish the walk along Henlow Bridge Lakes passing some kingfisher ponds where you may spot several avian species gazing along the lakes and finish off at Arlesey station car park.

This is one of nearly 50 walks making up the Bedfordshire Festival of Autumn Walks, hosted by Bedfordshire Ramblers Groups from 7th to 15th September. To see the full Walks Programme visit http://www.bedswalkfest.co.uk/

At the end of the walk, you are welcome to join us for a pub stop at The Old Oak in Arlesey which is also a dog friendly pub.

Dogs are welcome on a lead.

For information about walking with the group, including our dog policy, please visit the Stag Walkers website.

There is no limit on group size for this walk and booking is not essential; however, we do find it helpful to know who's coming, so:

* if you have to cancel please update your RSVP so we know not to wait for you

* you can RSVP via our Meetup group or e-mail stagwalkers at gmail dot com
