We are the Balerno Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Meeting at Beecraigs Vistitors carpark, where maps can be obtained and coffee if wanted at this stage.
From the car park we walk down a surfaced path to Beecraigs Loch. Walk round the loch and onto another easy walk to Balvormie. Return Along another easy route to the car park.
This is approximately 3 miles.
If further is wished, then from Balvormie we can take the path to Cockleroy path and hill . This would add about another mile. This is the only other than flat walking.
We regret that walks are not permitted on our walks.

Meet at Currie Library 9:20. It is 17miles to Beecraigs, and same return. It takes about half an hour to drive to Beecraigs. Riccarton Mains road on to A71 towards Edinburgh First exit is A72 to M8 Turn off 899 to Broxburn. Turn onto 898 to Dechmont. Turn off onto Burnside Road which leads you to signs for Beecraig Country Park. There is plenty of car parking, and the Visitors Centre is there Where maps can be obtained and coffee if wanted at this stage.
