Ben Lomond is one of the most popular Munros, with great views of Loch Lomond and its islands. The ascent is on a well-made path, but our return route down the Ptarmigan Ridge is over rougher terrain with steep and rocky sections. Possibly muddy lower down. As with all mountain walks, full hillwalking clothing and equipment must be carried.
Local grade: A OS map: 56
