Join the Chiltern Young Walkers for a circular walk in Berkhamsted. This walk contains some hills and will likely be slightly faster paced, but do not let that put you off and please drop me a message should you have any concerns or queries before joining.
Along the walk you’ll get the chance to see Gaddesden Place, a Buddhist Monastery and wildlife which may include Alpacas, deer and a large missing cat. You’ll also get to enjoy/ endure part of one of what must be one of the longest fields in the UK!
There is also the option of a pub at the end of the walk at Martin’s Place.
There is limited parking and it is recommend to arrive early to find suitable parking close to the start location. There is a Scout hut which offers some parking at Common Gardens but drivers are advised to check prior to parking.
It is likely to be cold and wet underfoot. Appropriate hiking footwear and trousers (e.g. not jeans) are recommended. As are waterproofs, in case the need arise.
Dogs are welcome, however we ask owners to make sure they are kept on their leads at all times and are well behaved.
Please bring plenty of food and water for the walk as there will not be any opportunities to purchase anything during the walk.
