We are the Kensington, Chelsea and Westminster Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Pre-registration preferred but not essential**
Moderate to brisk paced 23.1 km/14.4 mile walk with a gentle ascent onto the Downs, and just minor steep bits out of Alfriston and over Seaford Head.
Drop-out for buses possible at Alfriston. tbc.
About 5 hours walking.
Route: N to Bishopstone village, NE to The Comp (Track), N along ridge path to the SDW by Bopeep Car Park, SE along SDW over Bostal Hill and Long Burgh to Alfriston for lunch break (possible opt out here); leave village from S end in W direction, then SW through Rathfinny Vineyard up to The Comp (Track), SE then S along fringe of Seaford town, E down to Cuckmere Estuary, west along the Coast Path over Seaford Head to Seaford (pubs and cafés).
Lunch Stop: Alfriston - picnic.
Meet at Bishopstone Station at 11.16.
Travel: Victoria 09.54/Clapham Junction 10.01/East Croydon 10.10 - changing at Lewes (arr 10.56) to 11.00 Seaford train arr Bishopstone 11.16.
Ticket/Fare: Buy Off-Peak Return to Seaford. Freedom Pass buy from East Croydon.
Finish: Seaford - half-hourly trains.
