Join us on a shortish walk from Burnside to Queens Park. This leisurely linear walk will go through Castlemilk Park and its seasonal Bluebells.
If you have a busy Easter planned or need to get back to your chocolate eggs sooner there are options for an even shorter walk, stopping at Kings Park (after 4.5 miles) or Mount Florida (after 5.75 miles).
Seeing bluebells will be winter weather dependent, they generally flower during April and early May.
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the Leader (Sandra) in advance by email but not more than two weeks in advance, which is Saturday 5th April). Also please provide the Leader with a mobile phone number in case arrangements change.
If you’ve not had a response within a couple of days please check your junk mail.
Walkers should not come on the walk if they have any symptoms associated with the Covid virus.
The walk is undulating with a couple of steep sections. It is mainly on tarmac paths but with some grass or woodland paths. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and remember April showers.
If the Jeely Piece Centre is open there will be toilets available during the walk.
Weather and walkers dependant we will have one snack / early lunch stop, either at the Jeely Piece Centre (2 miles) or Kings Park walled garden (3.75 miles).
There are options for refreshments at the end of the walk, although the area will potentially be busy as there is a game on at Hampden.
