We are the Mendip Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
West Mendip Walkers moderate 8 mile circular walk starting from car park at top of Burrington Combe (BS450 7TZ). From the car park we climb up Black Down to Beacon Batch, then down to Rowberrow Warren where we then join the limestone link before climbing to Doleberry Warren. The walk heads back towards Burrington during which we climb to Burrington Ham and finally descend to our starting point.
Good views over the surrounding countryside to Bristol and the Bristol Channel. Black Down can be a little boggy on the top due to the peaty soil. Cattle and ponies can be found on Black Down at most times of the year.
