A fairly straightforward picturesque setting with only a few stiles. Close to the start, there might be Hereford cattle with a bull in a field and again cattle possible nearing Corby Glen. Been a lottery on quite a number of times this route has been walked.
There is always a squidgy wet patch as we drop from a field in a sunken path, before hitting the lane going to Corby Glen.
Coffee break at Lower Bitchfield church.
Only one really noticeable incline just before we have our lunch stop just below Ingoldsby Woods with fine aspect just over 300 feet up.
If windy, will determine which side of the hedge we will be. Then almost due south to Corby Glen where there will a refreshment stop on a grassy bank on the North side before turning North West back to Coggles.
We need to be careful crossing the B road North of Bitchfield, again walking the lane to Corby Glen and finally on walking along the B road before crossing to walk up the last half mile to the cars.
The lovely village pub – The Cholmeley Arms – is available for a drink after the walk!
Dogs are accepted on this walk, although they must be on leads at all times.
Please consider car sharing arrangements with other members to reduce the pressure on
parking spots at the start of the walk.
In the event of severe weather, please contact the leader on the day of the walk to check the walk is still on.
