Overview

The walk will start in Buxton town centre and will pass The Cavendish (a listed building recently renovated and incorporating a hotel) then via the Pavilion and Serpentine Gardens to the outskirts of Buxton when we follow Macclesfield Old Road up onto the Moors.

The we descend via Berry Clough to Goyt's Moss and return to Whaley Bridge along the Goyt Valley, passing Erwood and Fernilee Reservoirs and the Memorial Park to finish in Whaley Bridge centre

There will be (weather permitting) wide ranging views over moorland taking in the Cat & Fiddle and Kinder Scout plus the Goyt Valley.

Please bring food and drink plus waterproof clothing as the weather can be very changeable in the Peak District.

Also it is very helpful to let the walk leader know in advance if you wish to join the walk, leaving contact details to enable the leader to advise you of any late changes. Also as the walk starts with a bus journey please arrive promptly, or let us know if you decide against joining us.
