Overview

Whitwick to Bagworth A walk through the old mining area of NW Leicestershire. Route: Whitwick - Snibston Country Park - Snibston Church (St Mary’s) - Kelham Bridge Nature Reserve - Sence Valley Park - Battram Wood - Bagworth New Wood - Bagworth. The walk takes in some urban walking and passes through several parks and woodlands which have been developed on sites of former colleries. There are good quality paths most of the way. Meet at St Margarets 8.10 for 8.20 bus to Whitwick. We aim to finish at Bagworth by 3pm for a bus back to Leicester.
