Leaving the car park, we will walk down the road leading to the village of Castle Combe but divert off on a track that passes through woodland on the valley side. Descending down to the river we will reach the hamlet of Long Dean and return on the other side of the valley. The final stretch will be a walk through the village of Castle Combe and back up the hill to the car park.
This is a moderate walk with a few moderate climbs and lots of mud.
Those who wish may stop off at The White Hart in the village for refreshments at the end of the walk before walking back up the hill to the car park.
Please remember to bring your ICE (In Case of Emergency) cards in your pocket.
Please bring snacks and drinks as we will stop for a short break at Long Dean.
The car park charge is 80p for the day - cash or through the MiPermit app.
