6.5 miles at an easy pace. Almost flat but a steep hill up to Hilly Fields, and near the end of the walk you can climb the steps up Stave Hill and down. May be some muddy areas.
Route: Ladywell Fields, Hilly Fields, Fordham Park, Deptford, New Cross, Greenland Dock, Russia Dock and Canada Water.
Food: On Deptford High Street, but if very busy in the cafe, a large MacDonalds nearer to Greenland Dock is available, along with toilets. Veggie burgers available.
Drop out points are available.
Travel: Option 1: British Rail (Thameslink) from Elephant and Castle at 10.16, Denmark Hill at 10.24, Peckham Rye at 10.27, Nunhead at 10.30, Crofton Park at 10.33, Catford at 10.36.
Option 2: British Rail (Southeastern) from Charing Cross at 10.18, Waterloo East at 10.21, London Bridge at 10.25, Lewisham at 10.35, Ladywell at 10.40 and arrives at Catford Bridge at 10.42.
NB. The two stations Catford and Catford Bridge are adjacent. The leader will look out for walkers at both stations.
