It is your choice!
You could arrive at Rickmansworth station at 10.a.m. on Wednesday 12 February and catch the next train to Chesham arriving approximately 15 minutes later.
Alternatively, you could make a day of it and join us for this ramble hearing sounds and seeing sights you will never hear and see on the train journey.
Soon after leaving Rickmansworth station, we will be walking along the Chess Valley close to the picturesque chalk stream following its course upstream until we ascend the side of the valley to reach the small village of Latimer where we pause for you to enjoy your picnic lunch in the churchyard.
Then everything changes. After a stretch of walking along a country road we turn into a field and the landscape becomes more undulating and agricultural. We begin to encounter stiles (lots of them) and vistas open up with the height we have gained.
Then its time to descend towards Chesham where the walk ends at the station.
There you have the opportunity to take the train back to Rickmansworth and beyond; on the way seeing the places you would have seen if you had caught the train instead of joining our walk and enjoying the best of both experiences.
If you are planning to join this walk, please email the Walk Leader in advance using the contact box to confirm.
Some parts of the paths may be muddy &/or waterlogged so do wear robust boots.
Toilets are only available at Rickmansworth and Chesham stations.
There is a station car park close to Rickmansworth station.
Please bring a picnic lunch.
