A picturesque walk around Chichester Harbour, including a ferry crossing at West Itchenor. The walk starts at Chichester Marina, then on to West Itchenor - a very pretty harbour village. From here, the walk continues across the harbour by ferry (sometimes with some unexpected detours on route). Then, onwards to Bosham Village - yet another very attractive, coastal village, with King Canute historical connections. From Bosham, the walk crosses fields to Fishbourne through the reedbeds featured in Kate Mosse's book 'The Taxidermist's Daughter'. At Fishbourne, the walk goes back to following the shoreline, passing through Dell Quay and onwards back to the Marina. A leisurely walk on flat ground with stunning views.
There is a carpark charge at Chichester Marina. Additionally, the ferry from West Itchenor costs £3. There are toilet facilities along the length of the walk. For both the coffee break and the lunch stop, there is the option of using local cafes/pubs. Most of the walk is along established paths, with very limited sections of road walking. Lots of coastal views, boats & pretty villages. No dogs please.
