Starting from Amersham station this 11 mile moderate circular walk takes in 5 villages through the scenic Chiltern Hills.
We start the walk from Amersham station down to Old Amersham.
The walk takes us through the five villages of Coleshill, Winchmore Hill, Penn Street village, Beamond End and Little Missenden.
We will have a picnic lunch at Penn Street around the village green, where there are plenty of benches. There is also a pub, The Squirrel, for anyone who wants who wants to try this. The only toilet facilities are in the pub.
After lunch we walk onto Little Missenden, which is the fifth village, then follow the South Bucks Way back to Old Amersham and then on to the finish at Amersham Station.
Those preferring to travel to Amersham by car can park in the Old Amersham car park (£3.80 for the whole day – may need to pay on Ringo if the machines are out of order as they were on 6 October) and meet us at approximately 10:45am on The Broadway, outside Corals bookmakers, opposite the entrance drive to the Old Amersham Car Park.
The only public toilets are at the beginning and end of the route at Amersham Station, or Old Amersham Car Park.
At this time of year it is highly likely that some footpaths will be muddy so good walking boots will be essential.
All are welcome but if you are not a regular walker with our group please bring along an emergency contact number.
