Area Sunday Moderate Walk. Distances are generally 7 to 9 miles.

Circular Walk              No Booking Required

Please note the train times have been brought forward as the originally planned trains have been cancelled.

If you are travelling to Piccadilly station on Metrolink from the south or west of the city you need to be aware that no trams will be running from St Peter's Square to Piccadilly. Trams from Victoria to Piccadilly are running normally.

Distance - 8.5 miles

Meeting Place - Piccadilly station at 08.30 to catch the 08.45 train to Chinley.

Start of Walk -09.25 after the arrival of the train from Piccadilly due 09.21. Leader will meet the train at Chinley.

Car Parking - There is a station car park at Chinley or parking on the road above the station.

Walk Route - Chinley Station, White Knowle Farm, New Smithy, South Head, Mount Famine, Peep-O-Day Farm, Higher Hills Cottage, New Allotments, Chinley Churn, Over Hill Road, Chinley Station

Expected time back in Chinley - no later than 13.30 in time for the return train at 13.54. 

Train ticket - return to Chinley (if you have a GM concession card this can be from Strines).

Important Note: walkers are advised to check one of the rail websites such as nationalrail or trainline close to the departure time in case of late changes to the running of the train or late cancellation of either outgoing or return train. In the event of cancellation of trains the walk will not take place.
