Circular walk from the Three Horseshoes, Spellbrook, 5.5 miles
We will follow the Stort Navigation route north to Bishop’s Stortford and return via a different path to Gaston Green and back to the pub. The route is along towpaths, through a nature reserve and across fields. Because of the proximity to the waterway, advise using poles to steady yourself! Underfoot it will be muddy but not impossible except in one short section which may result in a detour if there is rain prior to the walk. There are no stiles and it’s mostly on level ground apart from one gradual ascent.
