Overview

West Mendip Walkers 10 mile moderate circular walk from The Woodborough Inn, Winscombe (BS25 1HD).

Leaving the Village of Winscombe we follow The Strawberry Line (Shared Path) towards Sandford Batch and climb through Sandford Woods to Lyncombe with a steep descent to cross the A38. A short ascent follows to reach Dolebury Warren, an Iron Age Hill fort with spectacular views across North Somerset and the Mendips. The route then descends to Burrington Combe and The Rock of Ages. A short section on a path parallel with the B3134 climbs up to Blackdown and returns to Winscombe via Rowberrow, Sidcot and Winterhead all with far reaching views. Good paths throughout.
