Overview

B WALK DESCRIPTION: Starting from the Station, we shortly join the North Worcestershire Path and head East into Hagley. Here the route briefly joins The Monarch’s Way and ascends to the top of Wychbury hill and an Iron Age fort located there (‘The Wychbury Ring’). Following we visit a local prominent landmark… an obelisk built in 1758 … located in a position that affords (on a ‘good’ day!) wonderful views. The route then heads south-east, briefly follows the Hagley Road before continuing to the National Trust cafe near the base of the Clent Hills. From there we take a fairly steep path (south-west) and ascend to ‘The Four Stones’ another place to enjoy some wonderful views. The route then descends to the Fountain (Pub and Restaurant) before again joining the North Worcestershire path to return to Hagley. Length : approx. 8.75 miles. Height: approx. 900 feet. Please note if the Fountain cannot accommodate us on the day (Sundays tend to be very busy for people who dine) an alternative pub stop can be made at the end of the walk.
