Overview

Leaving the Memorial Hall we walk uphill to Woodside, following forestry tracks to Black Hill, onto Fiddlers Elbow the a descent to Wheelbarrow Bridge.

A long climb follows, on lane at first, then fields to Clun Hill, eventually onto Church bank Lane and back to start via Clun Castle.

The grave of John Osborne, author and actor, can be found in the church graveyard.

There are six stiles  and this walk is graded at the strenuous end of moderate due to 2000ft of ascent.
