We are the Biggar Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Park at Castlebank Park, Lanark. Then a short walk to the bus stop at St Patrick's Lane in order to catch the 317 bus to Crossford at 9.53, arriving at 10.07. From there we cross the Braidwood Road bridge (B7056) and turn immediately right into the entrance to the Valley International Park where we will start the walk. From the visitor centre the walk continues upstream on a well defined path through woodland and alongside fields. On reaching Kirkfieldbank we continue through the village, crossing Clydesholm Bridge on good paths, returning to Castlebank Park.
Distance approx - 5 miles
Time approx - 3½ hours including coffee and lunch stops
Good well defined paths, some muddy sections, some steps, poles recommended, no stiles.

Remember to bring bus pass.
Meet at the Corn Exchange at 8.45 for car sharing in order to arrive at Castlebank for 9.15.
