Overview

 

This walk explore the downs to the south of Longleat. It is a fine striding walk with far-reaching views over the surrounding countryside. The finale is through the trees by the shore of Shear Water Lake where there is an excellent tea room with drinks, snacks and ice creams at the end. The walk incorporates the Mid Wilts Way and 2 long slow climbs. No stiles.
