An 11 mile walk in hilly countryside with long views across the surrounding area on a clear day. The route starts at Longborough. We go west to Hinchcliffe and then north to Blockley. We return from Blockley, past Batsford Arboretum to reach Bourton-on-the-Hill and then south back to Longborough.
There are woods and pasture along the way with some short road sections through villages. There are quite a few ups and downs including a descent of about 400ft into Blockley followed by a 400ft climb back up to Batsford.
The paths and tracks are generally good. Dogs on leads are welcome and the stiles (not too many) and gates are manageable for them. We're likely to meet sheep and cattle as we go. Please bring a pack-lunch and drinks/snacks with you.
Possible pub-stop in Longborough at the end of the walk.
