Overview

This is a leisurely walk of about 5miles, crossing over farmland and private woodland and taking in the profusion of early snowdrops along the banks of Coundmoor Brook. This was one of the first walks I came on when I joined the Ramblers  - and it didn't disappoint. On a clear day in addition to the drifts of snowdrops there are far reaching views to the Wrekin and glimpses of elegant Cound Hall. Our route will also pass an ancient cast iron bridge connecting Cound to the industrial heritage of the area.

Cound Guildhall is beside St Peters Church in Cound Village, Shropshire SY5 6EW. The village is signposted off the A458. Follow the road over a white railed bridge and turn left at the war memorial. After 1/4 mile the church will be on your left and the guildhall is immediately after the church. There is a small car-park so car-sharing would be appreciated. There is a community coffee morning on Thursdays so parking may be at a premium.
