We are the Chester-le-Street Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Coxhoe circular - Thursday, 19th December, 2024.
A moderate walk, of just under 5 miles, around the County Durham countryside. There is a steady climb at the beginning, some mud in places (where isn't there mud at the moment?) and a few stiles towards the end. If the weather closes in, the walk can be shortened easily and we can head for early refreshment at the nearby Gem Cafe.

09.50am to meet and 10.00am to leave, at the Old Civic Centre car park, Chester le Street, DH3 3UA
10.30 am Coxhoe Athletic FC car park, please note the Football club’s postcode will not take you to the correct location, so please use DH6 4LA. From the A1M southbound, leave at Junction 61 and turn left on to the A688 east. At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit on to the B6291. After approximately 0.7 of a mile turn left on to the housing estate (as you turn in you will see the Paving Factory on your right). Take the 2nd right after about 50 metres on to a small track leading to the Football club car park (despite what your Satnav might be saying!).
