Overview

Cracoe Skyline 12 miles SUNDAY 28th 10:30 Start
The Cracoe Skyline is a group of small crags above the villages of Rylstone and Cracoe giving fine views over the surrounding countryside. The walk starts from Rylstone, first following the ridgeline south over Hellifield Crag and Cookrise Crag towards Emsay. Skirting Emsay Reservoir and on to Emsay Crag. The walk returns over moorland to pick up the other half of the ridge line to Rylstone Cross and Cracoe Fell with its Obelisk/War Memorial before returning to Rylstone via Cracoe.

This is a fell walk but all the fells are small, the largest is 500 meters and much of the walk is along ridges. No dogs please as part of the walk covers moorland with ground nesting birds where dogs are not allowed. Generally good paths with some moorland. Suggest bringing a stick, there is one small beck which has to be stepped over.
