Craster, Howick and Longhoughton (O.S. Explorer map 332). A very scenic walk along the Northumberland coast and across rolling farmland from Rumbling Kern to Craster and onto Dunstanburgh Castle retuning to the start point via Howick Hall. Howick Hall is the home of Lord Howick a descendant of the 2nd Earl Grey, who sponsored the Reform Bill and lent his name to the eponymous bergamot flavoured tea, and who lived in Howick Hall from 1801 to 1845.
Terrain: Moderate difficulty, well defined paths, slight inclines, a little road walking towards the end and 1 stile. Can be wet and muddy in places. There are public facilities in Craster.
Refreshments: There will be a lunch stop during the walk. The Running Fox, in Longhoughton is open until 5pm for post walk refreshments.
