We will park at Crossford hall then walk to the edge of the village where we begin our ascent of Nethan gorge.
The path hugs the woods rather than the gorge itself but we have a good path with sturdy steps provided. At the top, alongside the castle, there are good views over Crossford and the Clyde valley. We then walk along a quiet country road before cutting along a footpath back onto the village centre.
Time taken: 2 hours
Distance: 5.61 km
Ascent: 240m
We will car share from the corn exchange in Biggar. Meet at 9.15.
We will have one stop on the ramble for lunch at Craignethan castle. No second coffee stop.
