We are the Sheffield Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A largely flat walk from Renishaw to Chesterfield Stonegravels, following parts of the Cuckoo Way, the Trans Pennine Trail, and the Chesterfield Canal, where we'll see that a lot of restoration work is being undertaken. In fact a large bridge, destined to span the Trail, is due to be delivered in three pieces on the day that we pass by. The weblink below gives interesting info and pictures relating to the restoration.
We'll catch the no. 53 bus at 9:50 from Sheffield Interchange, Stand 5. The walk starts at 10.25 from Hague Lane/Main Road bus stop, Renishaw.
We'll stop for lunch at Hollingwood on the canal, where there are also WCs, shop and cafe.
Buses at finish:
X17 at 04 and 34 mins past hour - 35 mins to Sheffield Interchange. Also nos. 43 and 44, but these take 63 mins.
