THE RAMBLERS ASSOCIATION CREATED THE KENT AREA ON 1st OCTOBER 1984. THIS WALK CELEBRATES THAT 40th ANNIVERSAY.
The walk starts from Cudham recreation ground CP. EX147. The walk goes south towards Buckhurst and crosses the golf course to Berrys Green and Blackbush Shaw before a steep climb up to Cudham for lunch at the Blacksmith's Arms (4 miles). In the afternoon the walk heads past Cacket's Farm and down Shelley Lane towards Knockholt and back by Birches Croft (3.5 miles).
PLEASE NOTE:
Here is some important information about getting to the start of this walk:
On 2nd October Cudham Lane will be closed all day from the bottom end at Green Street Green up to just before Blacksmiths Arms. If you intend coming on this walk, there are several alternatives for getting there:
1. Via Downe and then along Cudham Road and Downe Rd. but that means driving up the steep narrow lane to Cudham.
2. From Pratt’s Bottom to Knockholt and then taking Shelley’s Lane to Letts Green & along Cackets Lane.
3. Continuing from Knockholt to Scott’s Lodge then taking a right turn along Cudham Lane South.
